Historic Schoolhouses of Long Island

Book Talk with Zach Studenroth at the Quogue Library

Schoolhouses have always played an important role in the growth of Long Island’s communities and were often the center of town and village life, as was Quogue’s, built in 1822.

Join author Zach Studenroth as he discusses his recent book on Long Island’s historic schoolhouses, their architectural, social, and cultural history beginning in the 1700s during the area’s settlement period and lasting until the end of the 1800s when a new era of schoolhouse construction began. The program will end with a Q&A and book signing.
